Leonard Cohen wrote this lovely little poem:

Ring the bells that still can ring

Forget your perfect offering.

There is a crack in everything.

That’s how the light gets in.

We are full speed into the holiday season and so it seems appropriate to remind myself, and you now too, that there is a crack in everything.
Your clients and customers are feeling the pinch of parties and end of the year planning. Your family is wanting things from you, your friends are circling with invitations, and no matter how many layers you put on, baby it’s cold outside!
So here’s a 3 step process for getting yourself back on track during the holiday season.

  1. Expose your cracks – that’s how the light gets in and makes you relatable to everyone.
  2. Accept the cracks in everyone you encounter. When we look for the light in others we find it, and connect in a better way.
  3. Repeat this phrase often enough that you believe it, “Everything has a way of working out for me!” You’ll be surprised how true this statement is.

Here’s one more thing I say and believe:
“Everything works out in the end!”
And if something hasn’t worked out – I know it’s simply not yet the end!
