According to what I found online, the Dog Days of Summer are wrapped up about now, however, according to that same definition of a period of lethargy, inactivity, or indolence, they are still going strong! Ha!

“dog days. the sultry part of the summer, supposed to occur during the period that Sirius, the Dog Star, rises at the same time as the sun: now often reckoned from July 3 to August 11. a period marked by lethargy, inactivity, or indolence.”

This is something you can use to your advantage in your business.

Besides the back to school push from every major retailer in the world – and that started, what, the day school got out? You can use this August lull period to focus on the dog!
Here are two ideas:
A keep cool contest –
Have your clients post the best ideas and photos from how they keep their pooches cool during this “hot” period.
Do your own version of Back to School – With Training!
Focus on training this month – do a new trick video – or a new trick video daily and feature your four-legged customers as they go, back to school!
Lastly, and this is for those days you don’t much want to do anything, don’t!
There is a reason to take a vacation in the summer. You might make a big deal of that and when you return – hold a picnic someplace and invite your tribe to meet you at the dog park and you bring the treats!
